Acting President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) Dr. Ekrem Keleş visited the Iraqi Hajj Organization Chairman in Mecca.

Greeted by Iraqi Hajj and Umrah Commission Chairman Halit Atiye and Iraqi Fiqh Academy members, Acting President of Diyanet Keleş noted that Hajj season is an opportunity for scholars to meet each other and expressed his appreciation to meet the most distinguished scholars and Islamic law experts of Iraq in Mecca.

Acting President of Diyanet Keleş recalled that Hajj and Umrah Commission delegation had attended the Islamic Countries’ Hajj Organization Chairmen meeting hosted by Diyanet adding that, “I would like to express my appreciation to meet distinguished scholars of Iraq in the land of revelation. I would like to thank Iraqi Hajj and Umrah Commission Chairman Halit Atiye and Iraqi Fiqh Academy members for their invitation.”

Noting Hajj allows brothers and sisters meet each other and share their troubles, Acting President of Diyanet Keleş said that the most important issue of Ummah of Islam this year was the massacre in Arakan and went on to say the following;

 “Hajj is the occasion when Muslims of the world get together, brothers and sisters meet each other and share their problems. Muslims undetrtook their Hajj duty and gained Islamic awareness. This is one of the most important outcomes of Hajj.  One of our scholars resembled Hajj to a heart that collects the dirty blood from the body, cleanses it and then releases it back to the body again. We prayed together in Arafat and Müzdelife. We experienced Islamic brotherhood.”

Meanwhile, Iraqi Hajj and Umrah Commission Chairman Halit Atiye expressed his appreciation due to the visit and thanked Acting President of Diyanet for accepting his invitation.
