The funds collected by the Office of the President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and the Religious Affairs Foundation of Turkey through the campaign “Do Not Allow Humanity Die in Aleppo” has been handed to the Syrians who have been evacuated from east of Aleppo.
Vice President of Diyanet Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal accompanied by the muftis of some provinces and townships visited the aid center run by the Religious Affairs Foundation of Turkey near the Babel Customs Post and received information about the efforts of the center. The delegation also visited the bakery at the center and chatted with the aid workers.
In a statement at the center Vice President of Diyanet Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal said the said collected through the “Do Not Allow Humanity Die in Aleppo” campaign was brought to the center to be sent to the Syrians currently residing in Idlib.
“500 more TIR lorries carrying aid to be sent”
Ünal saying Diyanet will continue aiding the victims of the Syrian war went on to say:
“We have a bakery at the aid center. We produce 40 thousand loaves of bread on a daily basis and distribute it to the Syrian brothers and sisters. We have seven different bakeries in the region. We produce 100 thousand loaves at these facilities on a daily basis. The aid donated in Turkey comes to our center. We have three depots here that stock baby food, baby panties, flour and foodstuffs. We carry out our aid through feedback from the victims. Whatever is needed is conveyed to us and we rush them to the region.
Ünal said until now 125 aid lorries have carried relief material to the Syrians and by January 15 500 lorries will have carried aid to the Syrians.
After this Ünal and the accompanying delegation visited the township of Harim in the Idlib area and toured an orphanage. Later the delegation visited a camp for civilians settled from Aleppo and handed relief material to them.
