I am happy to host you in our Presidency.”

“Your homeland, your country is here but each of you also have another homeland. The main difference between here and your second home is the fact that your history and fundamentals of your civilization belongs here. This is the country which also played a main role in your identity,” said President of Diyanet Görmez and mentioned elements that form the identity of a person.

Noting importance of faith and language in the protection of culture, President Görmez went on to say the following:

“You can fight Islamophobia by representing Islam with your good morals and grace…”

A new sickness such as being afraid or feeling hatred against Islam has emerged in the countries you are living in. These feelings can only be beaten with good morals and knowledge. Human beings learn religion in order to live according to moral values. Each one of you should reflect the moral values of our Dear Prophet with your exemplary behaviors in the societies you are living in. This is how you can present Islam in the best way. If you achieve to represent Islam with your behavior, good morals and good words, then you can eliminate the fear and the hatred.

“You must learn the history of this soil thoroughly…”

All of you are Muslims. Islam is the last divine religion sent to human beings by Allah. You are the ummah of Prophet Muhammad. You have a holly book that you believe and it was sent by Allah, its name is the Quran. You have to know and understand the Quran. You must also read the life of Prophet Muhammad since his birth till his death. You must learn the history of this oil. You must learn how our ancestors established an Islamic civilization in Anatolia. You must know how they taught humanity this Islamic civilization. How can we carry peace and justice to the whole world? You must learn all these thoroughly. In this light we must know our own culture, faith and values of our faith in the best possible way.

“Communities who have lost their faith are doomed to lose their language and culture…”

Faith is the most important element that forms identity. You must learn Turkish very well because language is the element that forms culture. Language is the home of culture. Language is the home of civilization. Without a home, there would be no culture or civilization. You must learn about  history thoroughly. You must learn the history of Turkey, history of Anatolia and history of Islam. History of Anatolia is a part of the history of Islam. You must learn the history of Islam, too. Communities who have lost their faith are doomed to lose their language and culture. Due to this reason, you must learn your language and religion.

“Being compassionate and merciful to all created beings is the definition of Islam…”

Being compassionate and merciful to all creations of Allah, all beings is Islam. It is the definition of Islam. You should show this love, compassion and mercy. Showing how a Muslim displays good morals with his words, acts and behaviors would allow those who have wrong information about Islam to have a correct knowledge about our religion. Fulfilling our duties to Allah as believers is the most important mission of every Muslim. Due to this reason, you must not neglect your Salah duty. It means speaking to Allah five times a day. It is an opportunity to speak with the one who had created you out of nothing. You must not neglect this duty throughout your life. If you follow this advice, you will continue to live your life as a happy and good person.
