President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received Chairman of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council Hacı İbrahim Tufa and the accompanying delegation.

Reminding that Ethiopia, formerly known as Abyssinia, has an important place in the history of Islam during the meeting at the Presidency of Religious Affairs, President Erbaş stated that they are striving to improve the services carried out in the field of religious services with Ethiopia.

Making evaluations on the Israel's attack on the hospital in Gaza, President Erbaş reminded that a great massacre took place and hundreds of people were slaughtered, and continued his words as follows:

“We need all Muslims, all Islamic states, all authorities to be more sensitive and more dynamic about the suffering and pain of Palestinian Muslims, and we need to constantly bring these issues to the agenda in order for this massacre and attack to end as soon as possible, for Palestinian Muslims to be liberated by retrieving the areas occupied by the occupiers, for the freedom of al-Masjid al-Aqsa, and for Al-Quds to return to the land of peace. Once again, I wish mercy to our brothers and sisters who were martyred there, and a fast recovery to those who were injured.”

Chairman of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council Hacı İbrahim Tufa stated that words are not enough to express their love for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Türkiye, who have always stood by Muslims, and stated that they see President Erdoğan as the leader of Muslims.

Expressing that his sadness over what happened in Palestine, Tufa also noted that they prayed until the morning on the night of the July 15 coup attempt, and that they prostrated in gratitude after the coup attempt was defeated.

General Director of Foreign Relations Mahmut Özdemir was also present at the reception.
