Religious Affairs chiefs of Balkan countries visit newly appointed President of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş to wish him success.
Macedonia Islamic Union President Süleyman Efendi Recebi, Chief Mufti of Romania Murat Yusuf and Bulgaria’s Chişef Mufti Mustafa Hacı Aliş met separately with President of Diyanet Erbaş. At the meetings Erbaş stressed the importance of Turkey for the Balkans and added “we lived intermingled with the people of the Balkans for centuries. We are nations that speak the same language, belive in the same religion and share the same culture. There are no boundaries between our hearts. The Balkans have a special place for us. Our historical ties will continue as they have done in the past.”
President of Diyanet Erbaş said the Diyanet of Turkey has extremely strong relations with Balkan countries and stressed that this cooperation will continue in the future especially regarding religious education, religious services and religious publications.
The visiting Muslim leaders thanked Erbaş for receiving them at Diyanet and the warm hospitality accorded to them and said these relations will be further enhanced in the future.
