Ivory Coast Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Semme Kandia Camara visited President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş.
President of Religious Affairs expressed his thanks to Minister Camara for her visit.
Mentioning to relations between two countries, President Erbaş expressed that two countries are in close cooperation in both education and other fields.
Pointing out that one of the biggest problems of the Islamic World results from incorrect understanding of religion, President Erbaş said that this leads young people to be attracted by some organizations.
“Incorrect religious knowledge provides a basis for Islamophobic attacks”
Uttering that incorrect religious knowledge provides a basis for some Islamophobic attacks that target Islam, President Erbaş noted that there is a great need in this matter, especially in countries like Ivory Coast where half of the population is Muslim and half is non-Muslim.
Minister Camara: “There has been a relation of fraternity between two countries for a long time.”
Ivory Coast Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Semme Kandia Camara expressed her thanks to President Erbaş for being received.
Referring to relations between two countries, Minister Camara said, “Our people were so pleased and honoured by the visit that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made to Ivory Coast. This is an indicator showing that our relations are very good. There has been a relation of fraternity between two countries for a long time.” Minister Camara noted that cooperation between two countries continues in cultural, economic and social fields, particularly in religious fields.
Vice President of Religious Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Argun, Director of Foreign Relations Erdal Atalay were also present at the reception.
