Statement of the Presidency of Religious Affairs regarding the Hajj worship in 2022

Statement of the Presidency of Religious Affairs regarding the Hajj worship in 2022

Monday, April 11, 2022

As it is known, very few Muslims living in Saudi Arabia were allowed to representatively perform the duty of hajj in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid19 outbreak.

Last night, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced that a total of 1 million pilgrims from their country and abroad will be accepted in 2022. In the same statement, it was also announced that pilgrims under the age of 65 will be able to perform the hajj worship.

Our presidency closely follows the process and continues its discussions with the relevant Ministry. We have been informed by the Saudi Arabian authorities that the work on the quotas of pilgrims to be allocated to the countries is continuing and that a statement will be made on the issue very soon.

After determining the quotas of prospective pilgrim to be allocated to the countries, our detailed explanation will be shared with our citizens.

Respectfully announced to the public
