President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş visited Chairman of Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Hüseyin Efendi Kavazoviç at his office in Sarajevo
President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş visited the Chairman of Islamic Community Hüseyin Efendi Kavazoviç in Bosnia and Herzegovina where he came for the opening ceremony of Islamic Community (Riyaset) Administration Building.
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş was welcomed by Ambassador of Turkiye to Sarajevo Sadık Babür Girgin and Consultant of Religious Services in Sarajevo Dr. Yunus Keleş at the Sarajevo International Airport.
Speaking at the meeting held at Kavazovic's office, President Erbaş expressed his satisfaction for being in Bosnia and Herzegovina and said that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a special place in his heart.
“Bosnia was entrusted to us by Mehmet the Conqueror”
Remarking that Bosnia and Herzegovina was entrusted to us by Mehmet the Conqueror, President Erbaş said, “We always consider it as duty to protect his trust. An Islamic city manifests itself with its works, mosques, libraries and minarets. May the praise be the Almighty Allah (swt), we see all of this in Bosnia.
President Erbaş stated that they want societies all over the world to live in peace by respecting each other with their faiths and different ideas.
Kavazoviç “We, as a two different country, carry a single flag”
Chairman of Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Hüseyin Efendi Kavazoviç expressed his thanks to President Erbaş for the visit.
Emphasizing the fraternity between Turkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kavazoviç uttered that although the flags of Turkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina are different, they carry a single flag in the sense of fraternity.
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş visited the tomb of Alija Izetbegović
Later going to the Kovaçi Martyrs' Cemetery, President Erbaş visited tomb of first President of Bosnia and Herzegovina Alija Izetbegović there and made dua.
“Alija Izetbegović is an exemplary personality for everyone who loves their country and nation”
Stating his opinion on the visit, President Erbaş made the statements below:
“Alija Izetbegović showed great leadership in the most difficult times of Bosnia, in its most troubled times, and made great efforts to wage a great war of liberation by preparing the people for war in terms of repulsing the forces that was attacking Bosnia. At the same time, Izetbegović is a great philosopher, a scholar. He is a wise leader in the eyes of the Muslims of the world. For all those who love their country and nation, Alija Izetbegović is an exemplary personality. My advice is that we all read his life, read his works, learn his thoughts and raise generations according to his fighting spirit. May the Almighty Allah (swt) rest his soul.”
He visited the first masjid of Sarajevo, Hünkar Mosque
President Erbaş also visited the historical Hünkar Mosque which is among the works of Ottoman State and is the first masjid of Sarajevo.
Obtaining information from Chief Imam Sadrudin Efendi İşeriç on the mosque, President Erbaş subsequently visited the tombs of Ottoman State around the mosque and made dua.
Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Serdar Çam, General Director of Foundations Burhan Ersoy, Vice President of Religious Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Argun, Ambassador of Turkiye to Sarajevo Sadık Babür Girgin and Consultant of Religious Affairs in Sarajevo Dr. Yunus Keleş also attended the visits.
