President of Religious Affairs Erbaş receives the delegation of Niger

President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received former Prime Minister of Niger and Former Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Hamid Algabid and accompanying delegation

Expressing his satisfaction for the visit of Dr. Hamid Algabid who still carries out the duty of Niger General Directorate of Foundations Chairman of Board of Guidance and Inspection and accompanying delegation, President Erbaş said, “May the Almighty Allah (swt) let this visit contribute to development of the foundation they have recently established and to provide good services.

Emphasizing that foundations have been one of the most important means in development of societies and service to humanity, President Erbaş talked as “Our beloved Prophet who is the founder of Islamic Civilization is the founder of civilization of foundation at the same time. Therefore, as much as an imam, muezzin, preacher, mufti in the altar, minbar and pulpit is the heir of the Prophet (saw), the volunteers of the foundation, the employees of the foundation, everyone who works in the board of trustees and management of the foundation is actually the heir of the Prophet (saw).”

Stating that Turkiye Diyanet Foundation have given effort to provide more service to people since the day it established, President Erbaş used the following expressions, “When we look at the point we have reached today, we see that we have served more than a hundred countries not only in our country but also abroad, we endlessly thank and praise the Almighty Allah (swt).”

Emphasizing the importance of the two countries cooperation in religious education, religious services and many fields, President Erbaş talked as “We, as Turkiye Diyanet Foundation, contribute to education of student coming from Niger. We have Qurbani and Ramadan works. We have drilled approximately 85 water wells so far. We have humanitarian aid activities. Niger is a country that we work closely.”

“Turkiye has a very deep-rooted history in terms of foundations”

Stating his satisfaction for being received, Niger General Directorate of Foundations Chairman of Board of Guidance and Inspection Dr. Hamid Algabid expressed his thanks to President Erbaş. Algabid said, “Turkiye has a very deep-rooted history in terms of foundations. We would like to benefit from the experience of Turkiye.”

“You touched our emotions with the Friday Khutbah you delivered in Hagia Sophia”

Giving information about the works, Niger General Director of Foundations Khadijah Diallo in the delegation said, “We are at the stage of formation. We were very inspired by Turkiye. Since Turkey has a great deal of experience in this regard.”

Stating that the first khutbah delivered by President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş in the Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque after 86 years touched them, Diallo continued his words as follows:

“I would like to express that I am very touched to be in the presence of President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş. This is the second time you touch our emotions. Two years ago, you touched us with the Friday Khutbah that you delivered in Hagia Sophia. We were very touched that Hagia Sophia regained the status of a mosque. And you did it with a sword. It also touched us. We are very proud.

Vice President of Religious Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Argun and General Director of Foreign Affairs Mahmut Özdemir were also present at the reception.
