“Cooperation Protocol between Presidency of Religious Affairs and Korea Muslim Federation in Religious Field” is signed between Presidency of Religious Affairs and Korea Muslim Federation to cooperate in religious fields
President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received the President of Korea Muslim Federation Hussein Kim Dong Eok and the accompanying delegation at his office, before the protocol signature ceremony.
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş expressed his pleasure with their visit and wished Hussein Kim Dong Eok success in his works.
President Erbaş stated that South Korea is very important country for Turkiye and said, “The fact that we have connection since the past and especially in Korean War which lots of Turkish soldiers went and were martyred there and all of these incidents led to rapprochement between two countries until today. Today, we should further develop and increase this rapprochement.”
Hussein Kim Dong Eok: “Thanks to the Turkish soldiers, Islam became known in Korea”
Hussein Kim Dong Eok, President of Korea Muslim Federation also thanked President Erbaş upon his reception.
Hussein Kim Dong Eok expressed that thanks to the Turkish soldiers they got rid of communism and said, “At the same time, thanks to the Turkish soldiers, Islam became known in Korea. The nation of the Korea has always had a love for Turkiye. Especially, Islam has started in Korea as a result of efforts of Imams accompanied Turkish soldiers. That’s why we are always grateful for you.”
After the meeting, the protocol signature ceremony started. President Erbaş and Hussein Kim Dong Eok signed Cooperation Protocol which contains lots of subjects such as religious services, religious education and religious field researches between the two countries.
President Erbaş: “We will make our works more qualified”
President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, in his speech at the ceremony stated that thanks to the protocol they will carry out new works between the Muslims of South Korea and Presidency of Religious Affairs.
President Erbaş expressed that with this protocol, the future works will be more qualified both in terms of religious services and religious education and shared the following information related to the scope of the protocol:
“Inshallah, in both countries, organizing courses and seminars to improve the skills of imams, hatips and preachers and to make them scientifically, religiously and culturally qualified. Sharing information with the aim of spreading Islamic culture and developing the concept of ‘wasat (moderation)’, making and sharing publications and researches to share information, contribute to the development or recognition of Islamic heritage and Islamic culture. Conducting joint religious researches, sharing experiences in the fields of education and methodical work, organizing and conducting campaigns of hajj and umrah and in similar subjects, protocol will led us to carry out important works.”
Hussein Kim Dong Eok wished this protocol to be auspicious and said that they hope great works to be done between two countries.
Vice President of Religious Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selim Argun and Presidency of Religious Affairs General Manager of General Directorate of Foreign Relations Mahmut Özdemir attended to the signature ceremony.
