President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş, who went to Saudi Arabia to work on the Hajj organization, attended the Hajj and Umrah Conference in Jeddah
President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş delivered a speech here and in his speech, he stated that Almighty Allah (swt) created human as a caliph on earth and imposed on him only as much responsibility as he could afford and said, "Simplicity is one of the most fundamental principles of our great religion Islam. The principle of simplicity is one of the indicators of the fact that Islam is a valid religion for all people, everywhere and at all times."
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş stated that the fards related to the hajj worship, which is declared as obligatory in the Holy Quran, are detailed in the sunnah, and said, "One of the most important things that draw attention in many hadiths of the Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad (saw) is that hajj worship is arduous and difficult. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah Prophet Muhammad (saw) preferred simplicity in the fulfillment of hajj duties."
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş pointed out that the Prophet Muhammad (saw) was in favor of ease in hajj worship and did not want difficulties for his ummah, continued as follows:
"Based on this, the High Council of Religious Affairs under the Presidency of Religious Affairs has taken a facilitative approach in solving the problems faced by those who perform Hajj and Umrah in its decisions based on the statement ‘Differences of opinion among my ummah are a mercy’. As a matter of fact, difficulties force us to benefit from different sects. In line with these decisions, our General Directorate of Hajj and Umrah Services plans and carries out Hajj and Umrah organization and services to ensure that hajjis perform their worship in health and safety in accordance with the Book and Sunnah."
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş also shared examples from the decisions and fatwas (a ruling on a point of Islamic law given by a recognized authority) of the High Council of Religious Affairs for the hajjis coming from Turkiye to fulfill the Hajj worship in the easiest way in accordance with the Holy Quran and Sunnah under the current conditions and said, "Our High Council of Religious Affairs makes its decisions regarding hajj duties according to the principle of ease in accordance with the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (saw). The Prophet Muhammad (saw) preferred the easier of two things as long as there is no sin."
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş stated that the opinions of the jurists of different sects can be utilized in order to fulfill the Hajj worship in the most beautiful and easy way, provided that they do not contradict the Book and Sunnah.
President of Religious Affairs Erbaş stated that they appreciate the efforts of the Saudi Arabian authorities to make Hajj and Umrah visits easy and safe and said, "We recommend that the competent people and fiqh (the theory or philosophy of Islamic law, based on the teachings of the Quran and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad (saw)) councils of Muslim countries and communities come together and work on common solutions to make Hajj worship in the most beautiful and easy way under today's conditions."
Vice President of Religious Affairs Assoc. Prof. Selim Argun, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services Remzi Bircan and Member of the Supreme Council of Religious Affairs Mustafa Irmaklı were also present at the conference.
