President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş participated in the “Communication and Integration” conference held in Mecca by Saudi Arabia Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Invitation, and Guidance.
Expressing his thanks to the state of Saudi Arabia for the conference at the speech he gave there, President Erbaş said that the conference is significant and valuable in terms of its subject.
President Erbaş used the following expressions, “We, as Muslims, need conferences like this very much. Since communication and interaction have great importance for cooperation and solidarity. As a matter of fact, the Almighty Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur'an, ‘Cooperate with one another in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and transgression.’ May the Almighty Allah (swt) let the results of the meeting conduce to goodness."
Chairman of Presidency of Religious Affairs High Board of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Haçkalı, General Director of Hajj and Umrah Services Remzi Bircan, and Religious Services Attache of Mecca Dr. Ahmet Oğuz were also present at the conference.
Participation from 85 Islamic Countries
The 2-day conference which was held in Mecca, was attended by Presidents of Religious Affairs, fatwa councils, and officials from similar organizations from 85 Islamic countries.
During the conference, issues such as strengthening the ties of communication and integration between the Presidencies of Religious Affairs and fatwa councils in Islamic countries, promoting the values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples, expressing the importance of the Holy Quran and Sunnah, promoting Islamic unity among Muslims, combating extremist ideas, protecting societies from disbelief and corruption were discussed.
