The President of the Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş said, “I pray to Allah for all Muslims to join their forces to stop the occupying Zionists from massacring Palestinian children and innocents in Gaza and to grant us the opportunity to strive for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East al-Quds as its capital.”
The President of the Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş attended the “9th Conference of Ministers of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs” held in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
In his speech there, the President Erbaş drew attention to the fact that a grave genocide and persecution is currently taking place in Palestine and said, “I wish the world to be a safer place for everyone, especially the Palestinians who are being persecuted and genocided in their homeland. I also I pray to Allah for all Muslims to join their forces to stop the occupying Zionists from massacring Palestinian children and innocents in Gaza and to grant us the opportunity to strive for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East al-Quds as its capital.”
“The perception of a world devoid of purpose makes people restless and renders life meaningless”
The President Erbaş, pointing out that religion is an innate phenomenon, said:
“There is a tendency to believe in a creator in the nature of human beings. By virtue of creation, human beings need a conception of existence and the world that encompasses the life of the world and beyond. They want to know the meaning of their existence, where they come from, why they are here and where they are going. As long as they can think, they generate questions about existence and life and try to find answers to their questions.
Essentially, this is a questioning of purpose and a search for trust. Trust is the most deep-rooted quest of humanity. Because fear, anxiety and worry surround the agenda of a person whose sense of trust is not satisfied. The perception of world devoid of a purpose makes people comfortless and makes life meaningless and makes it no longer worth living. For this reason, the Almighty Creator has sent messengers and divine messages to guide humankind’s search for trust and show t the path of guidance since the first human being.”
“Allah commands justice as the greatest guarantee of peace and tranquility in the world”
Noting that the main goal of Islam is to ensure peace and tranquility on earth, the President Erbaş said, “Allah commands justice, equity, inviolability of fundamental rights and freedoms as the greatest guarantee of peace and tranquility in the world. He makes provisions to protect them. Our Prophet (s.a.w.) also defines a Muslim as “The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the people are safe”. This measure is a life principle that requires defending the right of everyone in the world to live in dignity, freedom and humanity.”
“The world is about to be lost in a whirlpool of cruelty, injustice, despair, tears and depression”
The President Erbaş stated that today we live in a world dominated by an understanding that sidelines religion, the creator and the transcendent dimension of existence, and continued his speech as follows:
“During this period in which religion and spirituality are being marginalised and abused to the greatest extent, social peace and trust are suffering serious wounds. Values such as justice, mercy, trust, peace, restraint and the most basic human virtues are largely replaced by chaos, turmoil and senseless conflicts. As a matter of fact, today, the world, which has marginalized tawhid, justice and good morals, is about to be lost in the whirlpool of cruelty, injustice, despair, tears and depression. Threats such as selfishness, loneliness, hatred, violence, terrorism, occupation and even global war have surrounded life. Therefore, humanity needs the truths revealed by the Prophet more than ever today.”
“No one is safe in a world where the most basic human rights are disregarded”
The President Erbaş stated, “No one is safe in a world where the most basic human rights are disregarded and values such as life, property, honour, dignity and honor are trampled underfoot. No one is safe in a world where the strong oppress the weak and where religious and cultural racism is turned into a political method. As the human family created by Allah in different races, colours, languages and cultures for a reason, no one will be safe as long as we cannot build an ethic of living that respects all these differences.”
“Insulting the beliefs and values of Muslims has become customary in some societies”
The President Erbaş stated that some countries have encouraged a number of anti-Islamic groups under the pretext of supporting the so-called freedom of expression and said, “Unfortunately, insulting the beliefs and values of Muslims has unfortunately become customary in some societies. This attitude, which contradicts moral and humanitarian values, shakes security and stability all over the world by encouraging people to hate crimes and violence. At this point, our primary duty is to fight against the global projects that aim at the truth together. It is to work with all our strength to present Islam's understanding of rights and justice, the Prophet's (saw) supreme example and superior moral qualities to every member of the human family with a beautiful language and a wise style.”
Remzi Bircan, Director General of Hajj and Umrah Services of the Presidency of Religious Affairs, and Hasan Güçlü, Head of Guidance and Inspection also attended the conference.
