The President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received Saudi Arabia Ankara Ambassador Walid Bin Abdul Karim El Khereiji in his post.
The President of Religious Affairs Erbaş expressed his satisfaction with the visit and thanked Ambassador El Khereiji.
The President Erbaş emphasized that the coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic was spreading rapidly and stated that the decision of Saudi Arabia regarding the entrance to the country for a visit to Umrah was temporarily suspended for the purpose of preventing the epidemic was rightful and supported the decision.
Regarding the issue, the President Erbaş noted that the process was closely followed in contact with the TR Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia.
The Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Walid Bin Abdul Karim El Khereiji thanked President Erbaş for being received. Giving information to the President Erbaş about the measures they had taken regarding the coronavirus (Kovid-19) outbreak, the guest ambassador stated that the measure decision taken for Umrah visits was temporary.
Noting that the Presidency of Religious Affairs organized a successful organization regarding hajj and Umrah in 2019 and in this respect, it provided services that would set an example for the other Islamic countries, the Ambassador El Khereiji gave his thanks to the President Erbaş.
The reception was attended by the Vice-Presidents of Religious Affairs Osman Tıraşçı, Dr. Selim Argun, General Director of Hajj and Umrah Services Remzi Bircan and General Director of Foreign Relations Erdal Atalay.
