President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş received Othsman Hassan, Cambodian Senior Minister in charge of Muslims, and his accompanying delegation in his office.

Expressing his satisfaction for the visit, President of Religious Affairs Erbaş stated the followings by emphasizing the importance of cooperation in religious education and religious services between the two countries, “We exert efforts in order to enable our brothers and sisters from all parts of the World benefit from the religious education of our country and share our experiences with them as much as we can.”

Reminding that people who had different beliefs have lived in peace within our civilization for centuries, President of Religious Affairs Erbaş continued his words by expressing that Cambodia is also a country in which people who adopted different religions are living together, “Here the important points are tolerance, which is one of the most important elements of living together, peace, and showing respect to beliefs of other people. As long as these elements are ensured people may develop this peace between them regardless of the country in which they live. We want that people with different beliefs and ideas from all the countries in the world show respect to ideas and beliefs of each other and live together in peace. This is a rule and principle of high importance for us all, for every country.”

Drawing attention to the Islamophobic and racist attitudes which are on the rise in different parts of the world, President of Religious Affairs Erbaş used the following expressions, “Recently, a number of exclusionary actions taken especially against Muslims, for example, in Europe, India, Myanmar, and other places of the world, even the fact that these actions are turning into attacks and developing in a way to ignore Muslims make us sad. Today, insha’Allah the more we show good exemplary behaviour against these unpleasant examples the more we are going to achieve wealth in this respect.”
