Prof. Dr. Mustafa Said YAZICIOĞLU

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Said YAZICIOĞLU (17.06.1987 - 02.01.1992)

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Said Yazıcıoğlu was born in Serene in Trabzon on 03.12.1949.He went to primary and secondary school in Milas. He finished high school in Aydın. In 1971, he graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Theology. After working at the Directorate of Religious Affairs Headquarters for a short period, he was sent abroad by the Ministry of National Education to do a PhD.

He did his military service in 1975.He completed his PhD in 1977 and started working at Ankara University Faculty of Theology. In 1983, he became an associate professor and in 1988 he became a professor. Starting from 1986 he was the head of the department of Theological Philosophy (kelam). He was the President of Religious Affairs between 1987 and 1992,a member of High Education Board between 1993 and 1997,dean of Ankara University Faculty of Theology between 1994 and 2002 and a member of the governing board of UNESCO’s Turkey National Commission between 10.05.1996 and 22.05.2002

He was elected a member of parliament for Ankara on 03.11.2002.He served as State Minister in charge of the Directorate of Religious Affairs. He is currently a member of parliament.Many of his books, copyrighted and translated articles have been published and he issued communiqués at different congresses and conferences.
